RISE TO THE TOP AND BE A READING ROLE MODEL

Team up with Model Dairy and join the Washoe County Education Foundation, school officials, administrative staff, principals, teachers, parents, and students in a fun way to promote literacy.

Over 10 million children in the USA have trouble reading, but together we can change that right here at home. Help us create a more literate society, a model society. Here are two ways you can help:

Rise To The Top–Collect Caps For Literacy
Through registered Washoe County public elementary schools, students and their families can collect specially-marked Model Dairy Milk Caps. Model Dairy will donate two-cents for each specially-marked cap collected to local literacy programs. The school that collects the most caps will receive a $1,500 donation and a Model Dairy ice cream party!

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $60,000 during the 2006/2007 school year. Click here to check your school's progress.

Be A Reading Role Model–Encourage Kids to Read
Reading is more fun than ever. Here's a reading program where parents, teachers, and fellow students team up for success. Model Dairy will provide each student at participating Washoe County public elementary schools with a special bookmark. Every time a child reads a book, he or she will receive a sticker on their bookmark from their teacher. With a full bookmark (6 stickers), the child will receive a free half pint of Model Dairy milk and be qualified for the Grand Prize–a family vacation to Disneyland!

In addition, the two teachers each semester who have the most completed bookmarks will receive free Model Dairy home delivery for one year. The school with the most completed bookmarks will win a Model Dairy ice cream party and 100 new books for the school library.

The more you read, the more everyone wins! Our goal is to encourage kids to read 10,000 books during the 2006/2007 school year. Click here to check your school's progress.
